10 New Years Goals and Resolutions for 2026

I am so astronomically proud and surprised about how December 2025 shaped my business, what I offer, and how I am going to be running my business in 2026. I do believe that the year of the snake isn’t quite over yet, so there is definitely still time to learn and grow into what this year is going to bring.
So, without further gibber-jabbering, Ducklings, may I present to you, my 2026 goals and plans!

1. Do or do not, there is no try.
Yoda only one to really explain this concept. I have business plans backdating year about things that I would “like to do” or a social media schedule broken down to each post that I should make depending on the day and the weather and the ideas of what I am thinking about. Ultimately, all the planning in the world is great, but it won’t get me anywhere if my ideas stay inside my head all year – or worse yet, on a Word document on my computer.

2. Post more consistently.
I know this is kinda a silly thing to talk about right after saying to stop planning and start doing, but honestly, posting on any form of social media is such a foreign concept to me! I am trying to get more “in the zone” and comfortable behind the camera, but I am not naturally an instagram type person. In this goal to post consistently, I also want to make sure that I am staying true to myself, my values, and my brand.

3. Travel
This is a goal that I have been planning for, for the last three months! Well, that is as long as you are counting January too! I will link the other post here, but I have an amazing opportunity to attend and show my collection at the Cannes Film Festival in May, and in October at Paris Fashion Week!!! This is something that I am so completely excited about and honestly kinda scared… Well, more on that in the other post lol

4. Get out of my comfort zone!
I believe that this year can be filled with so much growth and discovery. And, that can happen in my personal life, in my business, and in relationships. I often feel stuck behind a wall of fear, getting to a point that could potentially be a major breakthrough into a world of my dreams, but I stop short of the goal. Take for instance my December ’25 instagram posts. I created 24 reels and posts, but I only posted for 15 days out of the month. I believe that I would have been able to reach my 10K goal, if I had pushed through the fear put in more effort.

5. Build a community
I know that I cannot achieve my goals alone, and I have amazing parents who have cleared their schedules to help me get to markets and stayed there with me to be second bodies while I’m selling, or running to the store when I need things like heated blankets or tarps to be able to finish a market successfully.
Now, my goal is to take that one step further and build a community of like minded people who are connected through the internet! Thank you so much for being part of my journey!

6. Stay in love with sewing
While I am COMPLETELY in love with how much others love my creations, I have quickly realized how much time I do not have for myself or my projects. I have a lot of goals and plans (and 120 days to make a whole 8 look fashion collection) and I have almost no time to do anything but draw on my lunch break and then sew one duster when I get home from work at night.
7. Saving financially
I’m a bit of a dreamer, I will agree with that sentiment, but one of my goals is to move into a place with my boy friend at the end of the year. In my dreams, it would be a little ranchette, or some land that we can build a paycheck house and own some of our own horses, and chickens, and goats… and ya know every western inspired persons dream lol. But, that’s my big financial goal of the year…. Along with the 2 trips to France, and well, ya know!
8. Organization
This also seems to fall under the dream goals category… but, at the end of 2025, my dad offered to help me turn my parent’s garage into my own sewing studio, and, well…. I went ham on that goal. I bought a professional serger and buttonhole maker off of Facebook Marketplace and have planned out the space a million times in my head. Now, I just got to actually put in the work to convert the garage!

9. Fabric recycling
One byproduct of sewing, and especially sewing from salvaged textiles, is fabric waste. And, if you know me, I HATE wasting fabric. I have tubs and tubs of fabric scraps that I just can’t bear to get rid of because that would mean adding more to the landfill. My initial reaction to this is to start my patch club, so at least some of the fabric that I’m using will get reused into something cool, but I am working on a better solution – stay tuned!
10. And the last one is….
Rest and relaxation. I am so so so so so bad at taking time for myself to decompress and just “be”. My goal is to take at least one day a month and go on a fun day for myself. This may or may not happen in a total rest and relaxation theme. Honestly, I will probably end up going thrifting on my “days off” but I am making it a resolution and goal to focus on myself and my health this year.
Well, there you have it, Ducklings! If you made it all the way down to the bottom, thanks! I am supper excited for this New Year that is just TAKING OFF!
